MEMBER ACHIEVEMENTS

The Electronic Imaging Division (EID) of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) awarded a Best of Show Award to Naples Camera Club member Nancy Springer. Nancy's image, entitled "Deco Car", was chosen from 114 entries in the October session of the triannual EID Creative Competition. Nancy also received an Honorable Mention for her image "Purrr-fect". Way to go, Nancy!

The Photographic Society of America (PSA) announced that Dana Vannoy, APSA, EPSA has received the Excellence Distinction (EPSA) in recognition of her photographic achievement record in International Exhibitions of photography. Presentation of her award certificate will be made in September at the 2011 PSA International Conference in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dana will also take office as PSA's Divisions V.P. at the conclusion of the Conference. Dana has long been a strong asset of the Naples Camera Club!

Dana Vannoy, APSA, PPSA, was awarded the Photographic Society of America (PSA) Charles Keaton Memorial Award at the opening ceremonies of the PSA International Conference in Charleston, SC. The Keaton award is given to a PSA member who has been writing feature articles, complete with photographs, for the PSA Journal for a lengthy period of time. Dana has written over 13 feature articles for the Journal over the last 9 years and also has had 3 Journal covers. Naples Camera Club is proud to have Dana as a member!

Naples Camera Club members Len Messineo and Ed Cohen both had images selected to hang in the "Photography Annual" juried exhibit at Rookery Bay. Three of Ed's images were selected, as well as two of Len's images. Both Ed and Len received an Honorable Mention for one of their images. A photo submitted by Ken Rathjen was one of 15 selected from more than 3000 entries in a photo contest sponsored by Newsday, the leading newspaper of Long Island, New York. All of the entries featured Long Island subjects. Ken's winning entry was entitled "Fire Island Beach Scene". Congratulations, Ken!
