Naples Camera Club Monthly Program and Competition Schedule 2022-2023

We meet November through March, with 2 meetings per month (except December where there is only one meeting).  The meetings are a fantastic way to meet with other club members and share stories and experiences.  Our meetings generally have three points of focus.  

The first is a program speaker.  Speakers present different topics such as photography techniques and concepts.  These can include a wide range of subjects.  A few of the past speakers presented Film Noir, Macro and Close-up Photography, and  Portraits.  A new concept was introduced this year which pairs the speaker's presentation with a hands on photoshoot event where we can put into practice the concepts which were presented.  The photoshoot is generally scheduled between 1 and 3 weeks after the presentation.

The second is club announcements.  This is intended to keep the club membership informed about upcoming events and activities.  It is also a chance to learn about upcoming FCCC or DPI-SIG club opportunities.

Third, we hold competitions at every meeting, in two categories.  Their photographs are displayed, scored by the judges, and critiqued after all images have been scored.  Winners are announced for first, second, and third place, along with any honorable mentions.  The critiques are a great way to learn how to improve your techniques.

Meeting dates and time:

We meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, November to March. Meeting room opens at 5:30 for both Live and Zoom meetings, the actual meeting runs 6 - 8 pm.

          It is time for our second, annual Scavenger Hunt Photographic Competition!

          After last year's popular evening, we are repeating the Scavenger Hunt this year,

         at our meeting on February 14th, 2023.

         Here are the details. The subject Categories are:

                 - Insect

                 - Street Musician

                 - Lights

                 - Abandoned

                 - Love

        You may enter one image per category. Enter one category, or as many as you like,

         up to all five. This is really Assignment, so images are considered Open.

         Please label your images as we do in every competition:

         Image name - Category Example: Wiggly - Insect.

         Rules: Images must be new, taken between now, January 9 and February 4, 2023.
