Meetings - Time and Location

The Naples Camera Club offers hybrid meetings to members and guests: simultaneous In-person and Zoom meetings. 

The Naples Camera Club meets November through March, with 2 meetings per month. Our meetings occur on the second and forth Tuesday of each month (except December where there is only one meeting).  Meetings are a fantastic way to interact with other club members and share stories and experiences. 

Meeting Time:

We meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, November through March.  The meeting room opens at 5:30 for both Live and Zoom meetings, the actual meeting runs 6 - 8 pm. 

Check the Calendar Section on this web site to confirm the dates of upcoming meetings. Directions to meeting place: Take Golden Gate Parkway to the Golden Gate Community Center. There is ample parking out front. Enter through the main front doors. Turn right and follow the corridor to the far eastern end of the building to find our meeting room.

All members will be e-mailed a Zoom invitation. Guests wishing to join on Zoom, please request an invitation from Dave McFarlane at dmcfarlane22199@gmail.com. Guests are also welcome at the Live meeting.

Take Golden Gate Parkway to the Golden Gate Community Center. There is ample parking out front. Enter through the main front doors. Turn right and follow the corridor to the far eastern end of the building to find our meeting room.

Our meetings generally, but not always, have three points of focus.

The first is a program speaker. Speakers present different topics such as photography techniques and concepts. These can include a wide range of subjects. A few of the past speakers presented Film Noir, Macro and Close-up Photography, and Portraits. A new concept was introduced this year which pairs the speaker's presentation with a hands on photoshoot event where we can put into practice the concepts which were presented. The photoshoot is generally scheduled between 1 and 3 weeks after the presentation. 

The second is club announcements. This is intended to keep the club membership informed about upcoming events and activities. It is also a chance to learn about upcoming FCCC or DPI-SIG club opportunities.

Third, we hold competitions at every meeting, in two categories. Their photographs are displayed, scored by the judges, and critiqued after all images have been scored. Winners are announced for first, second, and third place, along with any honorable mentions. The critiques are a great way to learn how to improve your techniques.
