Karen Regan Bio

Karen Regan finds people to be the most interesting and unique subjects to photograph. She believes the most effective portraits deliver maximum impact and depict emotion and mood in a vivid and distinctive style. These portraits capture the essence of the subject’s character (real or idealized) in a vision created by the photographer. The art is in capturing the personality of the subject.

Karen is a self-taught artist who sees today’s digital photography as the merging of the technical and the artistic. She draws on her experience working in the high-tech industry to understand the technical aspects of digital photography and merges it with her passion for artistic creation. Karen believes that passion and love are not enough. She works vigorously to achieve and master her art.

Karen is the Director of Lighting for the Naples DPI-SIG Camera Club in Naples, Fl and conducts a monthly lighting/portrait workshop for members. Karen is also Vice President and Director of Programs for the Naples Camera Club in Naples, Fl. She has received various awards in Florida and New England for her photography, including the FEPA, Florida Excellence in Photography Award.

Karen is a resident of Southwest Florida and spends the summer season on Cape Cod. Karen has exhibited her work in both juried and non-juried exhibits in various locations on Cape Cod.
